my experience at the "marathon de montréal", by kelvin b.
That it was a huge experience! The best event for me during my 4 months stay at the Dianova’s Terrebonne center. Patrick, a clinical counsellor had told us about the 2011 10km marathon and he invited the residents to take part in the event.
I decided to participate because I needed to prove myself that I was able to do it, and second because I wanted to friendly challenge Patrick. Read article
supervised injection: common sense won
The Supreme Court of Canada ruled unanimously to uphold supervised injection site Insite's legal exemption
Cheap moral virtues have nothing to do with efficient public health practices, this the vibrant core of the Supreme Court's ruling. In a unanimous decision, the nine appointees to the highest court of Canada have confirmed that drug addiction is a disease, not the result of a soul weakness" wrote Marie-Andrée Chouinard in "Le Devoir" – October 3rd. adieu sylvain!
All of us who have come to work for and volunteer at Le Bon Dieu dans la rue have done so because of who we are: humane, compassionate, builders.

june 2011 - from sweden to canada for an alcohol treatment
Testimonial - Since I was admitted at Dianova, four months ago, I learned that I can do almost anything as long as I think it trough and have a plan for what I want and need.
It’s been challenging to me because I find it hard to be in charge and always thought that I wasn’t good enough to do things like that. Now I know that I’m good enough and I love being implicated in the community life and work towards my future.

Homage to Hugo Alfredo, a Homeless Man Who Died in New York on April 24
A man lies bleeding, dead after being stabbed in an effort to help someone being assaulted. People pass around the lifeless body, some hesitate yet continue along their way. No one calls for assistance. Hugo Alfredo’s death reminds us that a homeless man is still a man, and that our sense of humanity seems to dissolve in the face of the ills that affect our developed societies
